Snorkeling the MUSA Underwater Museum of Art
The MUSA (Museo Subacuático de Arte) is an incredible underwater museum where you can explore a collection of statues just off the coast of Isla Mujeres. And the best part is that there’s no need to have a scuba diving certification to explore this unique art gallery. You can just grab your mask, snorkel and fins, and swim in the calm waters with the perfect visibility of the statues. You will find most sculptures at a depth of 30 feet, but you can also find some sculptures’ sets at a depth of just 9 feet—the ideal place for snorkeling!
Snorkeling the Manchones Reef
Part of the famous Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the Manchones Reef is a true paradise for snorkelers and one of the best snorkeling sites in Mexico. This 7.5-mile-long natural marvel is ideal to spot exotic fish species and flora with amazing colors. The reef has depths from 50 feet to 1.2 miles and it is just 10 minutes by watercraft from Isla Mujeres.
